Viva la Vida
Viva la vida.
Live the life.
I am living the life. And it's incredibly beautiful. It's wonderfully marvelous. And it's achingly hard and profoundly perplexing. Participating in this mystery, in this miracle, is the ineffable gift of life. So much of life is inexpressible. It doesn't mean we shouldn't try. We have all experienced the comforting enfolding warmth of the connection that art offers us from those who have bravely ventured into the waters of art creation and then completed the circle with the offering of their materialization of the ineffable to others, in whatever minuscule or grand scale it might take.
This holiday season I am so thankful for the vast, wild, enigmatic journey that is life. I am grateful for the joyous miracles that arise out of and after the grief and pain of letting go.
I am grateful that life is complex and always inviting us to deeper knowing and more full and integrated living.
I am held by the grace of seeing my mutuality with more and more people. What a comfort to know we are in this together. I long to other less. I long to be less othered.
This holiday season I will spend time with new friends. I can't wait to see the Divine spark in them, as I make their acquaintance and share the comfort of food, community, and shelter.
What are you grateful for this holiday season?
What new experiences are you allowing in?
What art has moved you profoundly?
How can you practice othering less?
May we always see the blessing.

(Thank you for allowing for the delayed posting of these words that I wrote before Thanksgiving, but didn't manage to post. Personally, I think gratitude should be practiced beyond Thanksgiving season/day!)
